Decree No. 181/2013/ND-CP dated November 14, 2013 of the Government on elaboration of some articles of the Law on Advertising

This Decree details on the advertisement of special goods, products, services; advertisements on websites of foreign advertising companies and individuals that provide cross-border advertising services; outdoor advertisement panning; and procedures to establish a representative office in Vietnam of foreign advertising company

Special goods, products and services mentioned in this Circular include:

1. Medicines;

2. Cosmetics;

3. Foods and food additives;

4. Insecticides and germicides for families and health care

5. Medical equipment

6. Dairy products and dietary supplements for children

7. Medical services

8. Pesticides, ingredients of pesticides, plant protection supplies, useful organisms serving plant protection, veterinary medicine, and veterinary supplies

9. Fertilizers and bioproducts for farming, animal feeds, bioproducts for breeding, plant varieties and animal breeds

According to this Decision, information and pictures are banned from medicine advertisements include: Pictures of patients; Medicine effect diagram that has not been assessed; Pictures or names of physicians.

This Decree takes effect on January 01, 2014, replaces Decree No. 24/2003/ND-CP dated March 13, 2003
