According to Article 5 of this Circular, the Health Insurance Fund shall incur medical examination and treatment costs relating to tuberculosis examination and treatment when the recommendation is made by: (i) An individual having license for medical examination and treatment specializing in tuberculosis; (ii) An individual who has undergone TB treatment training.

With regard to prescription for tuberculosis preventive medicine, costs shall be covered by Health Insurance Fund in the cases mentioned at Article 6 of this Circular.

If patients are referred to the lowest level for further monitoring by higher level, the lowest medical establishments are responsible for producing dossiers on monitoring, managing, and providing treatment as per the law. The Health Insurance Fund shall incur the costs for tuberculosis medicine and medical supplies necessary for the administration of said medicine as per the law; the Health Insurance Fund shall not incur medical examination costs whenever tuberculosis medicine is issued to the patient.

This Circular takes effect from February 15th, 2022 and replaces Circular No. 04/2016/TT-BYTstatus1 dated February 26th, 2016.
