245/VPCP-KGVX dated January 11th, 2022 of the Government Office regarding 2022 Lunar New Year break and National Day holiday of cadres, officials, civil servants and employees

The Government agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs regarding 2022 Lunar New Year break. According, Lunar New Year break to mark the Year of the Tiger shall run from January 31st, 2022 (the 29th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Buffalo) to the end of February 4th, 2022 (the 4th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Tiger).
As the result, enterprises that adopt weekend holidays on Saturday and Sunday shall take nine-day Lunar New Year break (from January 29th to February 6th, 2022).
Under this Official letter, the Government also fixes the National Day holiday of 2 days, from September 1st, 2022 to the end of September 2nd, 2022 (on Thursday and Friday). Accordingly, on the occasion of National Day holiday, there will be 4 days off (including 2-day off weekend holiday).
According to clause 3 Article 112 of the Labor Code No. 45/2019/QH14, based on actual situation, the Prime Minister shall decide specific Lunar New Year Holidays and National Day on the annual basis. As the result, the aforesaid schedule means that it shall be applied nationwide, also applied to employees working for enterprises operating under the Law on enterprises.
