An application for enjoyment of lump-sum social insurance benefits with regard to a foreign employee comprises these documents:

- Social insurance book (original) in which the period of SI participation has been settled;

- The application form 14-HSB;

- The medical record extract/summary (if a person contracts a life-threatening disease such as cancer, polio, ascites, leprosy, severe tuberculosis, etc.) or the report on assessment of work capacity reduction given by the medical assessment council to certify the patient’s work capacity reduced by 81% or more severe (if a person contracts another disease);

- Invoices/receipts and list of medically assessed contents given by health facility.

Notably, when applying for lump-sum social insurance benefits, the foreign employee has to present his/her passport translated into Vietnamese and authenticated in accordance with the law of Vietnam.

Time limit for submission of the application for lump-sum social insurance benefits is 10 days, counted to the time of termination of labor contract or the time when the work permit, practicing certificate, practicing permit expires.

Time limit for settlement of the application for lump-sum social insurance benefits is 5 working days from the receipt of sufficient application as prescribed.

Lump-sum social insurance benefits shall be calculated according to the number of years of social insurance contribution prescribed at points b, c clause 2 Article 60 of the Law on Social Insurance No. 58/2014/QH13status2 .
