According to announcement of the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, on the occasion of the 2023 Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, officials, civil servants, public employees will be entitled to take 7 consecutive days off for Tet celebrations, from Friday January 20th, 2023 to the end of Thursday January 26th, 2023 (from the 29th of the 12th lunar month to the end of the 5th of the first lunar month), in which including 5 days off for the Lunar New Year and 2 compensatory days off as weekly rest days.
On the occasion of the National Day holiday in 2023, officials, civil servants will have 4 consecutive days off, from Friday September 1st, 2023 to the end of Monday, September 4th, 2023, including 2 National Day days off, 1 weekly rest day and 1 compensatory day off as prescribed.
With regard to enterprises, they may option to adopt the Lunar New Year holiday and the National Day holiday in 2023 as follows:
+ The Lunar New Year holiday: take break 01 last day of the old lunar year and 04 first days of the new lunar year or; 02 last days of the old lunar year and 03 first days of the new lunar year or; 03 last day of the old lunar year and 02 first days of the new lunar year.
+ The National Day holiday: take break on Saturday, September 2nd and option to take break on any of 2 days below: Friday, September 1st or Sunday, September 3rd.
If weekly days-off coincide with the Tet, public holidays, employees shall be entitled to take the succeeding compensatory days-off.
Enterprises must notify their employees of plan for the Lunar New Year holiday and the public holiday at least 30 days in advance.
Other holiday breaks will be arranged in line with the Labor Code.
