Official letter No. 3631/TCHQ-GSQL dated July 19th, 2021 of the General Department of Vietnam Customs regarding presentation of auxiliary labels for imports

According to clause 3 Article 7 of Decree No. 43/2017/ND-CP , if goods imported into Vietnam of which label has not been represented or represented insufficiently mandatory information, an auxiliary label is required.

However, the presentation of auxiliary labels may be made after the customs clearance. It is only required to be made before putting the goods into circulation (Clause 4 Article 9 of Decree No. 43/2017/ND-CP ).

For imported goods subject to physical inspection, customs authorities shall examine the presentation of original labels according to the regulations at Decree No. 43/2017/ND-CP and compare, examine information on goods’ labels with information declared on the import declaration forms to determine the conformity.
