The registration of VssID account is considered to be mandatory for all civil servants, public employees, employees in Ho Chi Minh city. Deadline for registration is before July 31st, 2021. This request is mentioned at Official letter No. 1388/UBND-VX dated May 5th, 2021.

According to Ho Chi Minh city Social Security Agency’s opinions, the installation and use of the VssID application are right and benefit of social insurance participants. It not only helps users to directly supervise enterprises in the process of social insurance contribution but also provides many other services and utilities such as looking up information about the process of contribution and enjoyment of social insurance benefits; providing electronic health insurance card; looking up medical examination and treatment history, etc.

Employees must themselves install this application and enterprises shall be only responsible for instructing and/or providing support.

In principle employees have to reach social security agencies to complete procedures before VssID accounts are activated. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, social security agencies shall temporarily activate accounts right after reviewing information declared by the employees consistent with data they managed. With regard to the declaration forms, enterprises shall collect and submit them on behalf of the employees.

Refer to Official letter No. 3717/BHXH-CNTT dated November 25th, 2020 for more information about installation of the VssID application.
