Decree No. 10/2022/ND-CP dated January 15th, 2022 of the Government on Registration Fees

One of the noticeable policies of the new Decree on registration fee is the application of 0% registration fee within 3 years (from March 1st, 2022) with regard to electric cars registered for the first time. Within the next 2 years (from March 1st, 2025), the first-time registration fee electric cars shall be subject to 50% of the registration fee rate for petrol and oil cars with the same quantity of seats.

However, re-registration fee rate of electric cars shall be 2%, equaling to the re-registration fee rate applied to petrol and oil cars and applied uniformly on a nation-wide scale.

This Decree takes effect from March 1st, 2022.

To abrogate Decree No. 140/2016/ND-CP dated October 10th, 2016 and Decree No. 20/2019/ND-CP dated February 21st, 2019.
