The roadmap for reception of international tourists to Vietnam announced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism shall be as follows:
- The 1st phase, started in November 2021: the piloted reception of international tourists shall be implemented in these 5 provinces/cities: Kien Giang province, Khanh Hoa province, Quang Nam province, Da Nang city and Quang Ninh province
- The 2nd phase, started in January 2022: Extending the scope of reception of international tourists to other provinces/cities (if they are eligible)
- The 3rd phase: Fully reopening to the international tourist market. Specific time of reopening shall depend on epidemic situation.
International tourists visiting Vietnam must ensure that they have certificates of full COVID-19 vaccination or certificates of recovery from COVID-19; have negative SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR/RT-LAMP test results; have health insurance or travel insurance policies that cover COVID-19 treatment costs at the minimum liability rate of USD 50,000.
