This Dispatch issues interim guidance for sorting, collecting and treating waste disposal from home-based F0 individuals.
Accordingly, all kinds of solid waste generated by home-based F0 individuals shall be considered to be infectious waste and must be sorted out separately from domestic waste of people not infected with COVID-19 and be collected under guidelines of Dispatch No. 922/BYT-MT dated February 27, 2022.
The drop-off site of F0's waste is regulated by the commune-level People's Committee
The treatment of F0’s waste must ensure environmental protection requirements as follows:
- If waste treatment is performed at hazardous waste treatment facilities with the function of treating infectious medical waste: comply with the license for hazardous waste treatment issued; emissions from medical waste incinerators must be treated to meet QCVN 30:2012/BTNMT and QCVN 02:2012/BTNMT; in case waste is disinfected by an autoclave, it must meet QCVN 55:2013/BTNMT.
- If waste treatment is performed at medical facilities or treatment facilities operating according to the model of clusters of medical facilities that are still capable of receiving: comply with the Plan on collection, transport and treatment of hazardous medical wastes of the People's Committees of provinces; ensure that emissions from medical waste incinerators must be treated to meet QCVN 02:2012/BTNMT; in case waste is disinfected by an autoclave, it must meet QCVN 55:2013/BTNMT.
