blue-check From March 1st, 2022: It is required to pay excise tax upon import of battery-powered electric cars

Based on Article 8 of the Law No. 03/2022/QH15, the General Department of Vietnam Customs notes that from March 1st, 2022, battery-powered electric cars shall be subject to excise tax according to point g clause 4 Section I of the Excise Tariff Schedule

When importing battery-powered electric cars, enterprises shall select correct codes TB235, TB245, TB255, TB265 to declare excise tax rates appropriately.
