The Ministry of Health has just promulgated guidelines on Covid-19 testing at business and production facilities in the new context.
Accordingly, business and production facilities must conduct screening testing for all cases of workers with suspected Covid-19 symptoms such as cough, fever, and shortness of breath, etc. and those with related epidemiological factors.
The periodical Covid-19 testing for workers shall be carried out as follows:
- With regard to groups of high-risk workers (heads of production groups, factory managers, company leaders, receptionists, etc.), it is required to conduct testing every week for at least 20% of workers (for very high-risk localities) or conduct testing once 2 weeks for at least 5-10% of workers (for high-risk and risky localities).
- With regard to groups that directly provide services for business and production facilities (providing meals, food, materials, security services, veterinary services), it is required to conduct testing every week for all workers (for very high-risk localities) or once 2 weeks for all workers (for high-risk and risky localities).
Especially, those who have been fully vaccinated (they received the last shot at least 14 days but not more than 12 months) or patients who have recovered from the disease within 06 months shall be exempt from periodical testing.
Business and production facilities may either conduct real time RT–PCR tests or rapid antigen tests and shall solely responsible for quality of tests, testing procedures and results. However, they must immediately report testing results to district - level health centers within 2 hours after the testing is completed or immediately report cases positive for SARS-CoV-2.
