This Decree regulates in details costs for Covid-19 treatment paid by the state budget, applicable to COVID-19 patients that are treated at state-owned hospitals and private hospitals that assigned to engage in Covid-19 treatment.

Accordingly, these costs incurred by COVID-19 patients shall be paid by the State:

- Medical examination, bed and technical service costs (according to health insurance-covered medical costs);

- Costs of drugs, medical chemicals, supplies, blood or intravenous fluids that have not yet been included in costs of medical examination and treatment services, or have already been used in medical techniques of which prices have not been announced yet (according to purchase prices);

- Costs of medicines, medical chemicals, supplies, blood and intravenous fluids that fall outside of the health insurance coverage (according to purchase prices);

- Costs of technical services falling outside of the health insurance coverage (according to medical service prices of hospitals).

For costs incurred from testing for and curing other medical conditions arising during the COVID-19 therapy, health insurance plans shall cover these medical costs according to the insurance coverage and coverage rates in the same manner as costs of in-network medical services. COVID-19 patients holding health insurance cards shall be liable for copays and expenses falling outside of the insurance coverage.

This Decree also regulates some other issues such as: Assigning personnel to take part in COVID-19 testing, vaccination, examination and treatment activities; remuneration policies for personnel who are infected with COVID-19 when being assigned or engaged to participate in COVID-19 management activities; particular policies pertaining to drugs and pharmaceutical ingredients authorized for COVID-19 treatment indication, etc.

This Decree takes effect from April 29th, 2022.

The regulations set forth in Articles 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11 and 12 of this Decree shall enter into force as from January 1, 2021.
