Decision No. 08/2022/QD-TTg dated March 28th, 2022 of the Prime Minister on implementation of rent support policies for employees

An employee who is living in a room/house for rent meets the following conditions shall be given a support amount of 500,000 VND/person/month for up to 3 months:

(i) He/she is working for an enterprise in an industrial zone (IZ), export processing zone (IPZ), or key economic zone (KEZ);

(ii) He/she has rented a room or a house from February 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022;

(iii) He/she has an indefinite-term employment contract or a fixed-term employment contract with a duration of at least 1 month which was concluded and executed before April 01, 2022;

(iv) He/she has participated in the compulsory social insurance in the month preceding the month in which the enterprise makes the list of employees applying for rent support. In case the employee is not required to participate in compulsory social insurance, he/she must be included in the enterprise's payroll of the month preceding the month in which the enterprise makes the list of employees applying for rent support.

Procedures, application for support are provided in Article 6 of this Decision.

In addition, an employee who is working an IZ, IPZ, or KEZ will be also eligible for support for returning to the labor market after Covid-19 (1,000,000 VND/person/month for up to 3 months) if he/she fully satisfies the conditions regulated at Article 8 of this Decision.

This Decision takes effect from the date of its singing.
