According to opinions of the Ministry of Construction, the designing for construction works in Vietnam have to comply with currently - applied national technical regulations.

With regard to seismic data, it is peak ground acceleration in line with the National Technical regulations QCVN 02:2009/BXD - Natural Physical & Climatic Data for Construction.

In principle “standards” shall be applied voluntarily, except standards invoked in a legal document or technical regulation.

Investors may themselves consider deciding and take responsibility for the application of national standards, manufacture standards or foreign standards to their own construction activities in Vietnam (Article 8 of Decree No. 15/2021/ND-CP ).
