According to point b clause 1 Article 4 of Decision No. 49/2011/QD-TTg, imported brand-new cars must apply level-5 exhaust emission standard from January 1st, 2022.

Accordingly, in case cars imported from January 1st, 2022 (including gifts, presents) fail to meet level-5 exhaust emission standard, customs authorities shall base on the aforesaid point b clause 1 Article 4 and clauses 1, 3 Article 18 of Decree No. 128/2020/ND-CPstatus2 to handle.
