The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that Vietnam has reached agreements on the mutual recognition of vaccine passports with these 16 countries: the US, UK, Japan, Australia, Belarus, India, the Philippines, the Maldives, Palestine, Turkey, Egypt, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Singapore, Saint Lucia, and the Republic of Korea on the principle of reciprocity.
A vaccine passport to be recognized includes a Covid-19 vaccination certificate or Covid-19 recovery certificate.
Visitors to Vietnam that hold vaccine passports from these countries or Vietnamese visitors to these countries are subject to the same medical measures as those who have been vaccinated in the host country. They are all also entitled to exemption from consular authentication/legalization when using these papers in the destinations.
Guidelines in details for requirements and forms of vaccine passports to be recognized are provided in the Annex enclosed with this Official letter.
With regard to vaccine passports of countries/territories that have introduced official forms to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, vaccinated people are still allowed to directly carry such papers to Vietnam according to the provisional guidelines at Official letters No. 2974/LS-PL dated August 6th, 2021, No. 3100/LS-PL dated August 13th, 2021, No. 3112/LS-PL dated August 14th, 2021, No. 3157/LS-PL dated August 17th, 2021, No. 3207/LS-PL dated August 19th, 2021, No. 3285/LS-PL dated August 24th, 2021 and No. 3342/LS-PL dated August 27th, 2021.
